The programs has three main goals: 1. Fun 2. Participation 3. Education
Players receive equal playing time and play a variety of positions throughout the season. Game scores are not reported and team standings are not kept.
An effort is made to form teams with an equal distribution of ability to create competitive balance.
The Wheat Ridge Avalanche will be doing "Friday Night Lights" again in the Spring of 2012
Check this website in Mid-August for Dates, Times, and Locations
What is Friday Night Lites?
It is open to ALL Wheat Ridge Soccer Players (u8 to U12, Boys and Girls, Developmental or Competitive)
We will focus on technique and skills. Sessions will focus on topics such as
heading, escape moves, first touch, shooting, and juggling. The games and
activities will have limited contact and conditioning - we want all our players
fresh and ready for their Saturday matches. There will also be games not
focused on specific theme skills such as tennis or volleyball
